Dear APSCE Members,
January 1, 2024 is the first day of my term as APSCE President. As I said at the closing ceremony of ICCE 2023, this is an honor and a privilege and I am committed to doing what I can to serve this community to whom I owe so much.
I thank Weiqin Chen for her leadership over the last two years. I congratulate Hiroaki Ogata, our new president-elect, and thank him for his willingness to step into this role. I also thank Tanja Mitrovic and most especially Lung-Hsiang Wong for their constant presence and guidance.
APSCE is growing in its activities, reach, and stature. Aside from ICCE, our theme-based conferences Metaverse and Artificial Companions in Education and Society (MetaACES), APSCE International Conference on Future Language Learning (ICFULL), and APSCE International Conference on Computational Thinking and STEM Education (CTE-STEM) are allowing us to develop these specialized communities of practice. Our membership in the International Alliance to Advance Learning in the Digital Era (IAALDE) is expanding our presence in like-minded international organizations such as the International Society of the Learning Sciences and the Artificial Intelligence in Education Society. ICCE and our journal, RPTEL, are among the venues-of-choice for our scholarly output.
In the next two years I will endeavor to sustain and elevate these efforts, with the help of our APSCE community. I hope that you will continue to invest your enthusiasm and hard work in our collective efforts to move education forward.
Kind regards,
Maria Mercedes (Didith) T. Rodrigo
APSCE President (2024-2025)
