The 14th International Conference on Computers in Education
(ICCE2006), to be held in Beijing, will be a prestigious
and high quality international conference that establishes
a forum for a scholarly exchange and interaction in employing
the use of computing technologies in education. Organized
annually under the auspices of the Asia-Pacific
Society for Computers in Education (APSCE), ICCE conferences
have been enhancing quality research and development in
technology-supported education throughout the Asia-Pacific
region and internationally. The technical program of ICCE
2006 will include paper sessions, panels, posters, tutorials,
workshops, invited speeches, doctoral consortium and other
special events.
As the capital of P.R. China, Beijing plays
a key role in political, economic, social, educational
and cultural life of China. The
2008 Olympics Games will be held in Beijing. With
the motto ¡°New Beijing, Great Olympics¡±, Beijing promises
to host a ¡°Green Olympics¡±, a ¡°Hi-tech Olympics¡± and a
¡°People¡¯s Olympics¡±.
Beijing boasts several dozen key higher
education institutions, among which
Beijing Normal University is the most important one
for teacher education and educational development in China.
As the earliest established teacher training university
in China, Beijing Normal University has become an important
education and research base for multi-disciplinary and
advanced scientific studies.
ICCE 2006 will provide a good opportunity
for communication among local and international researchers,
and for researchers to be acquainted with the market needs
of the special Chinese culture and society. The organizing
committee of ICCE 2006 and Beijing Normal University welcome
